Whats the funniest thing you've ever seen happen in the KH?

i remember being a kid and we didnt have the fancy fabric seats, they were plastic stackable chairs all set out in the usual lines.. an elderly bro, rather rotund, farted, the noise so loud and thundering against the plastic seat!

or the time when i must have been about 7, my dad brought his bible study family to their first ever meeting, i had to sit on mums knee.

i recall giving the daughter of the new family a very vigorous v sign during the meeting.

Just before I went on stage to begin the Sunday meeting, a sisiter with mental problems started sceaming VERY loudly at another sister; "You're SATAN..SATAN...SATAAAN...you DEMON!!!!" Everyone froze like in the movies. I got on stage and started the meeting without saying a word, while 2 elders escorted her outside...she was banned from ever returning to our hall. Its funny, months later she would test the ban by turning up but 2 Elders would always jump her and ask her to leave.

2. Someone did the loudest fart i ever herd during the Watchtower. Know body knew who did it...until a Elders wife slapped him really hard on the back...I could see his red ears from my seat.

3. Older sister would go put on a headcovering when she was going to abuse or complaint to a brother...I don't think that was theocatic!

Witnesses designed own non-pagan calander in 1935 Sunday=God day?!!

{editor of golden age} woodworth in a personal letter to you stated that it would be serving the devil to use our present day calander.

I wanted to know why Rutherford was so mad, that he left his mansion Bethsarim to get Woodworth! What is this refering to. In the 1935 yearbook p.168 a new calander was designed by Woodworth that was not "Pagan, and devil inspired."

Monday=Lightday Tuesday=Heavenday, Wednesday=Earthday, Thursday=Starday Friday= Lifeday Saturday=Manday Sunday=God day.

The same was done with the months. {Oct=Logos Nov=Jehovah etc.} Woodworth In The Golden age March/May 1935 published 70 pages of graphs, charts, bible texts, astrology, mathamatics, and information, on why we need a new non-pagan calender. At the same time he sent Rutherford a letter pressing him to use the calander. Rutherford was furious that so many pages of his magazine were used for this useless calander, so he apparently abused Woodworth in front of the Bethel family. {Nice annionted guy!} It was just 10 years since the 1925 embarrassment and Rutherford was very careful about "dates."

He then published Watchtower may 1 1935 p.142 "The Calander" "...seeing there is a danger of giving importence to this to the exclusion of weightier matters, this note of warning is hereby sounded. God's people should keep in mind the "pyramid" delusion {Russell} and the speculation that accompanied the study of chronology,the pitfalls into which lead many. Do not fall into a simular trap...Be reasonable and moderate. Aviod wild speculation as to at what time and in what manner future things will come to pass. The statements in The Golden Age are not dogmatic..."

This episode shows the myth of a "faithful slave class." Rutherford was boss, and he could shut down anything written by others that he disagreed with. Just think brothers, we nearly had a new Witness calendar, how enbarrasing would that have been to explain! By the way for all you brothers out there...today is "lifeday" the 7th of the month of "Order" 2007!

Awake sept 2007 deals with natural diasters page 7 is titled "Are you equipt to flee? It recommends having a "Go Bag" ready for any emergency, filled with maps food/water flashlight, first aid kit etc. A pictures shows a concerned dad grabbing his "Go bag" while his wife and child look scared in the background. You see, the faithful slave is always one step ahead of you! My Armegedon "go bag" is ready!

Alabama has no cools songs written about it like Yellow Rose of Texas, Deep in the heart of Texas, although I do remember a Clint Eastwood film, young soldier singing about "Alabami." Can you sing it for me? ...What do you mean "the jury is still out on segregation."

they lack crosses, statues, and other symbols that most christian churches have.

My original Hall looked like a cream noah"s Ark...square box, very ugly old building, the toilet doors opened outwards into the main hall, knocking out many a brother. We sold it to the Assembly of God, now, we laugh at them with thier ugly Hall. Ha hahahaha! Apparantly, the nieghbours hated us being their...until they met these "born agains"...Witnesses please come back!!

I love how Knorr says you cant blame certain "ones or one" for what happened, which is his reference to Rutherford's previous visit in 1938 where he "commended" those in charge. Then Knorr makes the average Witness apologize for the poor leadship that lead to this sin...not very fair. Knorr should have said: "I apologize to all Australian brothers for the poor leadship of greedy Rutherford and his foolish branch servant. We were wrong and we are so sorry." That would be the decent thing to do not twist it on the brothers, it's like the sheep apologizing for the shepard! This really irrates me, I know Rutherford was just a fool, but Knorr lost all my respect with his arrogant attitude.

The kingdom farm at Ingleburn was across the road from the military acedemy, today it is the Bethel complex. The brothers organisied the washing of military uniforms for all the soldiers...for a good price! The irony is during the war, brothers were going to jail instead of putting on a uniform...that was washed and pressed at Watchtower farms! Yearbook 83 p.64 states "In 1938...one of the reasons for Rutherford's visit was to examine complaints about certain commercial activities that Australia branch had developed to give brothers employment. He was satisfied that this was not harming the preaching...and COMMENDED Brother Macgillivray on his initiative." $$$$$$$ The branch servant and Rutherford were happy with the arrangement. Many were stumbled and left the truth. P.96 "...the vision of some had grown dim and they lapsed into inactivity." In 1947 Nathan Knorr came to sort out Rutherford's mess. All money making was stopped on Knorrs orders. At the convention Knorr gave his apology speech. {P.97} "we desire in the presence of Jehovah God to confess that during the war, we put our hands to the iniquity of this world at war...we put various properties of God's people to what we now realize was part of the war effort and propaganda, thereby violating true neutrality...we do not wish to shift the blame...on any paticular one, or ones...we confess a common responsibility for this matter." {What about blaming Rutherford?} "We Jehovah's Witnesses do...confess our sins and faults...and ask forgiveness." {Yeah it's all the publishers fault!}
